What are the requirements for processing materials when using precision engraving machine to process knife die products?
When the precision engraving machine processes the die products, there are clear requirements for the core indexes such as hardness, flatness, moisture content and material uniformity of the processed materials, and it is necessary to match the processing characteristics of the equipment with the working conditions of the die. The specific requirements are as follows:
Matching of hardness and strength of substrate
Glue board/density board (for paper box and color box die): The hardness should be moderate (Shore hardness 60~80), and the strength should meet the requirements of no edge collapse and deformation during processing. It is recommended to use birch multilayer glue board or high-density fiberboard (HDF), and avoid using low-density board (easy to fluff and poor weather resistance).
Metal plate (used for gift boxes and plastic suction knives): aluminum plate (brand 1060/5052) and thin steel plate (Q235) are commonly used, and the hardness should be ≤HB100 to avoid high-hardness alloy steel (easy to wear carving knives and reduce processing efficiency); The aluminum plate should be free of oxide layer and impurities to prevent the knife from sticking during processing.
Material flatness and dimensional accuracy
The overall flatness deviation of the plate is less than or equal to ≤0.2mm/m/m, and there is no warping, depression or bulging on the surface, otherwise, it will lead to different depths of tools during carving, which will affect the precision of cutting die clamping.
The plate thickness tolerance should be controlled within ±0.1mm, so as to ensure that the overall thickness of the die is consistent, and it will fit tightly after being installed in the die cutting machine.
Moisture content control (for wood substrate)
The moisture content of rubber sheet and density board should be controlled at 8%~12%. If the moisture content is too high, it will easily lead to deformation and cracking after processing. If the moisture content is too low, it will be brittle and easy to crack when carving.
Before processing, the wood substrate should be placed in the constant temperature and humidity environment of the workshop (temperature 20 2℃, humidity 50% 5%) and balanced for more than 24 hours to avoid secondary deformation caused by temperature and humidity difference.
Material uniformity and impurity content
There should be no holes, knots and impurities in the wood substrate, otherwise the cutter will be stuck or broken, or the edge of the groove will be uneven when carving.
The metal substrate should be free of sand holes, scratches and scale, and the surface of aluminum plate should be clean and free of oil stains, so as to prevent aluminium scrap from sticking to the cutter during processing and affecting the clamping accuracy.
Adapt to the special requirements of the use scene of the knife die
Substrate of food packaging knife die: it must meet food-grade standards, and the rubber plate made of environmentally-friendly adhesive is selected, so as to avoid formaldehyde release and pollution of food packaging.
High-speed die cutting tool substrate: It needs high wear resistance and impact resistance, and it is recommended to use thickened birch rubber sheet or hard aluminum sheet to prevent the substrate from being deformed during die cutting.
